First Book Week event sells out

Kirkcudbright Book Week has its first sell-out event of 2024 with the last tickets having gone for the talk by Donna Brewster on Wednesday March 6 at Kirkcudbright Library, one of our free events.

Author Donna will tell how research into the history of her home in Wigtown led to her writing a novel entitled The House that Sugar Built about one of its 19th Century owners.

The novel explores the life of a woman whose mother was of slave heritage, and whose father became the Provost  of Wigtown. The book, originally published 25 years ago, is now available in a new revised edition under the Second Sands imprint.

There are plenty more events with tickets available – you can check out the full programme at http://www.kirkcudbrightbookweek.org
